ICCR Low- and Middle-income Country Committee
August 2026

The ICCR has established a Low- and Middle-income Country (LMIC) Committee. Professor Marta Cohen of the United Kingdom has been appointed as Chair. The ICCR LMIC Committee will include representatives from ICCR Bronze members and others with experience in the LMIC setting.

The ICCR has developed the Bronze membership tier to increase access to membership for low-resource pathology organisations (by invitation). Bronze members may nominate representatives to join the ICCR LMIC Committee as part of their membership. The benefits of Bronze membership will primarily be educational projects delivered via the ICCR LMIC Committee.

The key objectives of the LMIC Committee are to:

• Provide guidance to the ICCR Board of Directors and ICCR Council on matters relating to educational opportunities promoting the ICCR datasets among LMICs.

• Foster dissemination and effective use of ICCR datasets in LMICs by providing educational activities (such as webinars, lectures and conference presentations) to pathologists and other medical professionals.

• Support pathologists practising in LMICs to effectively communicate complete cancer pathology results to associated clinicians, cancer registrars and other secondary users, thus ultimately benefiting cancer patients globally.
