Welcome Professor Peter Schirmacher as the new ICCR Vice President

The ICCR is pleased to announce Professor Peter Schirmacher as the new incoming Vice President.
Professor Schirmacher has been a valuable contributor to the ICCR, serving as both a Councillor and Board member since October 2023. He is currently a member of the ICCR Dataset Authoring Committee for Liver Metastasis Resection.
Since 2004, Professor Schirmacher has served as Director of the Institute of Pathology (IPH) at Heidelberg University in Germany. He holds numerous prestigious positions including Chairman of the German Society of Pathology, Council Member of the European Association of Pathology, Board member of the National Center of Tumor Diseases, and member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. He is also an honorary member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and serves as Principal Investigator in various national and international consortia. With a scientific focus on liver and molecular pathology, particularly the molecular pathogenesis of hepatobiliary cancer, Professor Schirmacher has contributed to over 600 publications and numerous guidelines in these fields.
Professor Schirmacher brings a wealth of experience to his position as Vice President of the ICCR. We deeply appreciate Professor Schirmacher’s ongoing commitment to furthering the ICCR’s mission.
